India has taken a decisive step in its fight against Covid-19 pandemic. Since January 16, that is last Saturday we have started the world’s largest immunization programme.So far Over 3.81 lakh priority group beneficiaries have been vaccinated three days into India’s inoculation drive. India has given emergency approval to Two vaccines Oxford Astrazeneca’s Covishield manuftutred in India by serum institute of India and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin. Before the beginning of the immunization drive, the health ministry had issued a detailed guideline as to who will be given the vaccine shot and who will be not.
Since, this is the first phase, in this phase only first respondents and frontline workers will receive vaccines. The Ministry had also warned off side-effects like fever, fatigue etc and what steps will be taken in case such adverse reactions are reported after administering vaccine.
