“Amid the debate over Hindi Imposition in the country, two film stars have been caught in a verbal spat. Kannada movie star Kichha Sudeep had said that Hindi is no more a national language. Hitting back at him Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan said that Hindi was, is, and will always be our mother tongue and national language. However, it soon snowballed into a political controversy with several leaders from Karnataka slamming Ajay Devgn. Moreover, the Twitter trends like Hindi is my national language and Hindi is not my national language also pit citizens against each other.
The issue started when Kichha Sudeep was reportedly speaking to the media at the trailer launch of the film “”R: The Deadliest Gangster Ever”” when he corrected someone on the use of the term “”pan-India”” regarding the reach of movies.
