Weekly Roundup: Sadhvi Pragya apologise for comment on Hemant Karkare’s death


Weekly Round-up: The Bharatiya Janata Party on 17th of April, announced that Malegaon Blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Thakur will be contesting from Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal constituency against Veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh. In an issued statement, BJP announced that Pragya Thakur will contest from Bhopal. (byte Pragya) Reports of Thakur to contest from Bhopal arised after senior BJP leaders like Narendra Singh Tomar, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Uma Bharti refused to contest from the Bhopal seat. Pragya Thakur is a key accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case and Thakur has been charged for being a part of a terror act under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. She is out on bail but has not been discharged by the NIA COURT hearing the case. Soon after she was nominated from Bhopal constituency, Pragya Singh Thakur gave a shocking statement on former Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad chief Hemant Karkare, who died in action during the Mumbai terror attacks. She further said that she was treated “very badly”. She had also made a shocking statement where she said that Hemant Karkare died because of his karma. In a shameful remark, Pragya Thakur literally bragged about cursing Hemant Karkare.
