For most part of the past week, the entire country is glued to only one news. Rahul gandhi’s conviction in a defamation case by Surat court and his subsequent disqualification. It has been six days that Congress leader Rahul gandhi was convicted by a surat court in a defamation case and awarded 2 years imprisonment. The case was related to his 2019 statement where he had question why do all the thieves have Modi surname. The case was filed by one Purnesh Modi, stating that Gandhi’s statement is an insult to the entire community. Soon after his conviction, Rahul Gandhi was swiftly disqualified from LokSabha and was asked to vacate his official residence. The COngress party across the country has descended on the streets, protesting Rahul gandhi’s disqualifications. Protests are being organized almost everyday in the national capital. The party is conducting press conference across the country calling Democracy Disqualified, reportedly, some Congress MPs also showed willingness to tender their resignations from the lower house in support of Rahul gandhi but the party is still deliberating on it. Meanwhile, all opposition parties have united against BJP in parliament. The opposition parties also observed black day a day after Rahul’s disqualification. For a change even AAP and TMC supported Rahul gandhi. As per the law, Rahul Gandhi has 3 months to appeal to a higher court. And if he is able to get a stay on the conviction, his disqualification can be revoked by the Loksabha. The question is, with a battery of legal stalwarts and best of the legal opinion available, why haven’t Congress, rahul Gandhi moved to the Higher court to appeal against Rahul gandhi’s conviction? Is Congress deliberately delaying it? or is there something else? Let’s talk about this in today’s video: Well some believe that Congress is in a legal fix over the appeal whereas some believe that the party is just biding time so that the issue continues to be in the news for some time.
