PNB fraud: CBI to ask Interpol, UK for Nirav Modi’s arrest

While diamond merchant Nirav Modi has been traced to London, the Central Bureau of Investigation is now in constant contact with Interpol and the authorities in the United Kingdom asking them to get moving on the red corner notice against the fugitive and arrest him with immediate effect. As per the officials, the Interpol and the United Kingdom had informed the CBI in August 2018 itself that Nirav Modi was in the country but his exact location remained unknown. It was also learned by the Indian agencies that he was frequenting European countries and was seeing his lawyers so as to discuss the legal proceedings going on against him in India, US and the UK. Some of the other countries that he had traveled to last year are Hong Kong, France, Belgium and US.
