Chhasttisgarh Launches Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Scheme, Sonia, Rahul Join The Launch On VC

Rahul Gandhi applauded the Chhattisgarh government for launching this scheme at a time when the poor and farmers are facing hardships.

Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojna was launched today for the farmers of Chhattisgarh by the Bhupesh Baghel government in the presence of his cabinet. Congress President Sonia Gandhi and general secretary Motilal Vora were also present for the launch of the scheme through video conferencing. Rahul Gandhi also joined the launch of the scheme through video conferencing. The scheme was launched on the day of Former PM Rajiv Gandhi’s death anniversary.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that the Nyay scheme was a true tribute to the former PM Rajiv Gandhi. Lauding the scheme, Sonia also said that it will bring changes in the lives of farmers and help them become self-reliant.

“Such schemes should be implemented at the ground level to help bring a change in the lives of people. This is a revolutionary scheme and is a true tribute to Rajiv Gandhi. This is a big step taken in lines with the values of Rajiv Gandhi,” Sonia Gandhi said.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also extended his appreciation to the Chhattisgarh government for launching this scheme at a time when the poor and farmers are facing hardships due to the coronavirus outbreak and the lockdown to contain its spread.

Bhpesh Baghel, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, said that the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay scheme will benefit around 19 lakh farmers and will bring more land under cultivation.

He also said that the purpose of the scheme is to help farmers earn more money and to bring more areas in the state under cultivation, which stands at 20% in the present.
