New Delhi| A few days after a mango seller’s stock was robbed by passers-by in Jagatpuri area of Delhi, the fruit-seller received overflowing donations from many people.
NDTV reported that the donations were in excess of Rs 8 lakh.
He had sustained a loss of some Rs 30,000 when the mangoes were looted. NDTV had shared the fruit-seller’s bank account details on their news channel.
“I am thankful to you. You told my story. I am thankful to everyone who has helped me,” Chhote told NDTV.
“Those who had to steal did so. But I am overwhelmed that so many people have helped me,” he said.

“I can now stand on my own feet and will be able to continue my fruit business and feed my children,” fruit-seller Phool Mia told NDTV, thanking all the people who helped him.
Scores of people had pounced on crates left unattended by Chhote in Delhi’s Jagatpuri area on Wednesday, after he had to move his push-cart because of a fight.
