After hours of debate in the Lok Sabha on Monday, the parliament passed the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) at the stroke of midnight. The Bill is now set to be tabled in the Rajya Sabha and BJP is sure to swiftly pass it.
While on paper, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) appears to have a slim majority in the upper House. But the Nation is against the Citizenship Amendment Bill as it is against the Indian constitution and illegal. Many of the parties along with opposition are opposing the bill.
The bill includes the acceptance of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan Hindu but does not include Muslims. A secular nation is the core of India is not justified claims the opposition. This will bring more fear in the minorities, especially in Muslims, opposition states.
Protest are happening all over nation especially in North-Eastern states as these communities are going to harm a lot they claims.
