On Tuesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) scripted history by winning a third consecutive term in Haryana, winning 48 seats in the assembly polls, while Congress bagged 37 seats. In Jammu Kashmir, the NC-Congress alliance crossed the majority mark with 48 seats. The BJP won 29 seats. Elections were held for 90 seats in both Haryana and J&K. 

Responding to the victory of the INDIA bloc in J&K and defeat of the Congress in Haryana, Congress leader and Lop in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has taken to social media platform X to express his thoughts.

โ€œMy heartfelt thanks to the people of Jammu and Kashmir โ€“ INDIAโ€™s (INDIA alliance) victory in the state is a victory of the Constitution, a victory of democratic self-respectโ€, Gandhi said.

Gandhi further said: โ€œWe are analysing the unexpected results of Haryana. We will inform the Election Commission about the complaints coming from many assembly constituencies.โ€

Expressing gratitude to the people of Haryana and Congress workers, Gandhi said: โ€œHeartfelt thanks to all the people of Haryana for their support and to our Babbar Sher (Barbary Lion) workers for their tireless hard work.โ€  

โ€œWe will continue this fight for rights, for social and economic justice, for truth, and will keep raising your voiceโ€, the tweet further read.
