Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024: 58.19% Voter Turnout Recorded Till 5 Pm

A voter turnout of 58.19% has been recorded till 5 PM  in the first phase of the Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmirโ€”24 of the stateโ€™s 90 constituencies. Kishtwar has recorded the highest voter turnout at 70.3%, and Pulwama district has recorded the lowest voter turnout at 36.90%.

The valley is seeing its first assembly elections since the removal of Article 370. This is also the first time Jammu & Kashmir will see an assembly election as a Union Territory. When Article 370 was abrogated, the state was divided into the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh.
