Mumbai| Despite the continuous increase in the number of coronavirus patients in Maharashtra, people are not taking the decision of lockdown seriously. Given this, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today said that he is forcing orders to impose curfew in the entire state. He said, “I am forced to announce statewide curfew. People are not ready to listen and we are helpless.” He said that yesterday we had sealed the border of the state, today we have sealed the border of the districts. “Now we will not allow it to spread in those districts where it has not been affected yet,” Thackeray said.
The CM of Maharashtra said that essential things like grocery, milk, bakery, medical services will continue. People need not panic. All religious places will also remain closed. Only the saints and clerics will be able to go inside them.
The Chief Minister said, “We will not tolerate crowds at public places at any cost. No one will be allowed to roam the streets except in an emergency. If these guidelines are violated then people will have to face legal action.” He said that all necessary services, medical stores, veterinarians and their shops will remain open during the curfew.

He said, “We have to win the fight against the coronavirus. The state government is training Anganwadi and Asha workers and home guards as the state need more manpower in the fight against Covid-19.” The Chief Minister said that he has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to suspend domestic airlines. He said that we will only allow essential services. He said that if we do not curb the coronavirus at this moment, we may have to face the situation like some European countries. Officials said on Monday that the number of cases of Covid-19 in Maharashtra has increased to 89. There have been 15 more positive cases of fatal infection in the last 24 hours.
Apart from Maharashtra Punjab and Delhi have also imposed curfew in the states.
