Karnataka Election 2018

“Kannadigas will not make a mistake of trusting Amit Shah”: Siddaramaiah

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reiterated that Kannadigas will not make a mistake of trusting the “Shah of Lies”.

As the polling dates of Karnataka Assembly Elections are nearing, the battle between Congress and BJP is turning more intense. A day after BJP President Amit Shah warned the Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah of BJP winning more seats in his home turf, Siddaramaiah has hit back at Shah calling his promises a “bag full of jumlas”.

Amit Shah who was in Old Mysuru- a bastion of Congress, had said that he might have made a mistake but people of Karnataka will not do that. Shah was referring to his gaffe where he had mistakenly said that BJP’s CM pick Yeddyurappa’s government was the most corrupt. Although, he promptly corrected the “slip of the tongue”, the media and opposition pounced on the statement to make it a headline.

Referring to the same, Amit Shah said, “I made a mistake and Congress started celebrating. I want to tell the Congress that I might make mistakes but people of Karnataka will not make one.”

Hitting back at the statement of Amit Shah, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah took it to Twitter expressing his faith in ‘Kannadigas’. He reiterated that Kannadigas will not make a mistake of trusting the “Shah of Lies”. Sharing a news of Dalit youth killed by Upper caste men in Gujarat for riding a horse, Siddaramaiah called it a “Shocking inhumanity towards Dalits in Gujarat”.

He further took a covert jibe at Amit Shah saying that even after such incident occurs in Gujarat, “A certain Gujarati gentleman comes here with a bag full of #Jumlas & promises heaven to Dalits.” Pointing towards an incident where Amit Shah was caught off-guard by the angry Dalits at an election campaigning rally who questioned Shah about BJP MP Anant Hegde’s controversial remark on the community, he said, “If they question him, they are branded as Cong goons.”
