7.1 Earthquake Displaces Thousands In Western China

After a magnitude 7.1 earthquake hit western China on January 23, over 12,000 people sought refuge in tents and shelters amid ongoing aftershocks. The quake in the Xinjiang region caused three deaths, five injuries, and extensive property damage. Evacuees faced freezing conditions, with makeshift bonfires providing warmth.
