Imran Khan accepts ISI, Pakistan Army trained Al Qaeda terrorists

Pakistan PM Imran Khan confessed that the ISI and Al Qaeda were linked. In fact, the ISI trained the Al Qaeda terrorists before 9/11.

New York| Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday admitted that the country committed “one of the biggest blunders” by joining the US-led ‘War on Terror’ post the 9/11 attacks. He said that the previous governments were responsible as they “should not have pledged what they could not deliver.”

When asked why no investigation was conducted into al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden being found and killed by US Navy SEALs in Pakistan’s Abbottabad, Imran confessed that the ISI and Al Qaeda were linked. In fact, the ISI trained the Al Qaeda terrorists before 9/11. He said, “Pakistan had an investigation. But we will say that the Pakistan Army, ISI trained al Qaeda before 9/11, so there were always going to be linked. Many in the Army didn’t agree with the policy change post 9/11.”

Imran Khan was speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) think-tank. He said he expects the international community to urge India to lift the curfew imposed in Kashmir.

Khan said that he had earlier urged his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi to “reset” bilateral ties. He said his government also waited to resume talks until after the Indian elections. However, later it found that “India is pushing them in the blacklist of the Financial Action Task Force to bankrupt us.”

Khan said after abrogating Article 370, India had breached aside the UN Security Council resolutions, the Simla Agreement, and its own Constitution.
