Pakistan Elections: PTI worker shot dead amidst clash with ANP supporters

A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker was shot dead and two others were injured during a clash with Awami National Party (ANP) supporters in Swabi on Wednesday. PTI and ANP workers came face-to-face in PK- 47, Swabi after polling began nationwide at 8 am.

A report in a Pakistani daily stated that the workers clashed in the PK-57 constituency of Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Reportedly, the situation got worse only after a firing incident took place during the tussle between the party workers. During the firing incident, a worker from PTI lost his life while two others sustained injuries.

District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani confirmed that a PTI worker was killed in the incident. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, the DPO added.
