Watch: Anupam Kher takes swipe at Naseeruddin Shah on his ‘clown’ remarks

Kher said “I have never said anything bad about you now I will. You have spent your entire life in frustration, despite achieving so much in your field

Mumbai: Actor Anupam Kher on Wednesday hit back at his co-star Naseeruddin Shah over his “clown” comment. He said the actor is not taken seriously due to his substance use.

Naseeruddin Shah had taken a jibe at Kher, who has been a vocal supporter of the BJP central government, calling the actor a “clown” who should not be taken seriously.

“Anupam Kher has been very vocal. But I don’t think, he needs to be taken seriously. Kher is a clown and any number of his contemporaries from NSD and FTII can attest to his psychopathic nature. It is in Kher’s blood, he can’t help it,” Shah said.

Responding to Shah, Kher posted a video message on his official Twitter handle and said Naseeruddin has a habit of criticizing others from the film industry.

Kher said “I have never said anything bad about you now I will. You have spent your entire life in frustration, despite achieving so much in your field. If you can criticize some actors Dilip Kumar Sahab, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Shah Rukh Khan, and cricketer Virat Kohli, then I am sure I am in great company.

“Nobody from these people has ever taken your comments seriously as we all know that due to the substances you have been taking past few years, you don’t realize the difference between what is correct and what is wrong,” Kher said.

Further, he said that if Shah gets “some headlines” by criticizing him, then it would be his gift to him.

“Do you know what is in my blood? Hindustan is in my blood. Just understand this,” Kher added.
