New Delhi: Slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid the Chinese Kidnapping, Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi said that PM’s silences proves that he does not care about it. Chinese Army had ‘kidnapped’ a 17-year-old boy from Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district.
“Just a few days before Republic Day a young boy, the future of India, was kidnapped by China. We stand with the family of Miram Taron and will not give up hope… won’t accept defeat,” Mr Gandhi said.
“The Prime Minister’s silence is his statement… he doesn’t care,” he tweeted.
Defence establishment sources have told NDTV the Army has reached out to the China People’s Liberation Army via the ‘hotline’ to alert them that an individual out collecting herbs and hunting had lost his way. Assistance has been sought to locate and return him per established protocol, sources said..
Mr Gandhi’s furious outburst comes a day after MP Tapir Gao alleged that the PLA had abducted the boy from the northeastern state’s Lungta Jor area.
In the incident there were two teens, one got kidnapped and the other managed to escape. Along with Taron his friend Johny Yaiying, was there too, who managed to escape, informed the authorities about the kidnapping by the PLA, Mr. Gao told news agency PTI over the phone from Ziro, the district headquarters of Lower Subansiri district.
Both of them are local hunters and belong to the Zido village.
The incident took place near where the Tsangpo River enters India in Arunachal Pradesh, the MP said. The Tsangpo River is known as Siang in Arunachal Pradesh and the Brahmaputra in Assam. Earlier, Mr. Gao had tweeted: “Chinese #PLA has abducted Sh Miram Taron, 17 years of Zido vill. yesterday 18th Jan 2022 from inside Indian territory, Lungta Jor area (China built a 3-4 kms road inside India in 2018) under Siyungla area (Bishing village) of Upper Siang dist, Arunachal Pradesh”.

All the agencies of Govt of India are requested to step up for his early release. @narendramodi @AmitShah @rajnathsingh @PemaKhanduBJP @ChownaMeinBJP @adgpi”
About the incident, he has informed the Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik and appealed to him to take fast and necessary action in the matter. He also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and the Indian Army in his tweets, and is seeking help from everyone.
