RPG Attack Mohali: โ€ Khalistani Links, Key Conspirator Associate Of Pak Terrorist,โ€ Say Cops

Mohali: The key conspirator in the rocket-propelled grenade or RPG attack at the intelligence headquarters in Punjabโ€™s Mohali is associated with Pakistan based terrorists. This information was shared by stateโ€™s cop.

โ€œThe key conspirator is Lakhbir Singh Landa. Heโ€™s a resident of Tarn Taran. He is a gangster and shifted to Canada in 2017. He is a close associate of Harinder Singh Rinda, who is a terrorist based in Pakistan,โ€ said Punjab Director General Of Police (DGP) VK Bhawra told presspersons.

The cop said that the attack was a way to send a message since most of the officers had left the office when the attack took place.

The RPG was fired at the third floor of the highly-guarded building in Mohaliโ€™s Sector 77. The incident took place around 7:45 pm on Monday. Following the incident an alert was sounded in Punjab.

Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), a terror outfit, and gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa planned the attack. Their plan was backed by Pakistanโ€™s spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), said the top police officer.

โ€œTwitter Deal Temporarily On Holdโ€: Elon Musk

Ashmita Chhabria

New Delhi: Elon Musk on Friday, tweeted that his Twitter deal worth $44-billion is temporarily on hold. He cited pending details in support of calculation that spam and fake accounts indeed represent less than 5% of users.

Shares of the Social Media company have fallen from 17.7% to $37.10 in premarket trading. It is the lowest lowest level since Musk disclosed his stake in the company in early April and subsequently made a โ€œbest and finalโ€ offer to take it private for $54.20 per share.

On Tuesday, the implied probability of the deal closing at the agreed price fell below 50% for the first time. Twitter shares dropped below $46.75.

Earlier this month Twitter had estimated that false or spam accounts represented fewer than 5% of its monetizable daily active users. This was during the first quarter, when it recorded 229 million users who were served advertising.

โ€œTwitter deal temporarily on hold pending details supporting calculation that spam/fake accounts do indeed represent less than 5% of users,โ€ Musk tweeted on Friday.

Speaking of changes to be brought in the app on his priorities, he said said that one of his priorities would be to remove โ€œspam botsโ€ from the platform. Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Muskโ€™s representatives or his company Tesla Inc were not immediately available for a comment.

Until the deal with Musk is closed, the social media company said it had faced many risks. The risks included whether advertisers would continue to spend on Twitter amid โ€œpotential uncertainty regarding future plans and strategy.โ€

Musk is very critical about the Twitterโ€™s moderation policy. He has said he wants Twitterโ€™s algorithm to prioritize tweets to be public. He said he is against too much power on the service to corporations that advertise.
