Mumbai: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has requested that the government launch an investigation against former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede for conducting a “shoddy investigation” while investigating the drugs-on-cruise case in which Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan was arrested last year.
According to the authorities, action has also been taken in relation to his forged caste certificate.
On Friday, the Narcotics Control Bureau cleared Aryan Khan in the ‘drugs-on-cruise’ case from October 2021.
Wankhede works for the Indian Revenue Service, and the finance ministry is the nodal authority for pursuing him. According to sources, the government has requested that the relevant authority take necessary measures against Wankhede for his alleged faulty probe into the ‘drugs-on-cruise’ matter.
