BEST buses concession for UG and PG student
UG and PG students in Mumbai can now get passes for 100 trips worth Rs 999 at Rs 500 in BEST buses.

Mumbai: In Mumbai, undergraduate and postgraduate students will soon be eligible for bus pass discounts. A monthly permit for 100 rides worth Rs. 999 would be provided to students starting on August 22 at their local bus depot, according to the official statement from Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport (BEST).

“For graduates and recent graduates, BEST has introduced a special student concession bus pass. They would receive passes good for 100 travels totaling Rs 999 for Rs 500. Beginning on August 22, 2022, the passes can be purchased online through the “BEST Chalo app” or at the closest bus depot” , the BEST Bus Transportation tweeted.

The decision was made one day after Maharashtra’s chief minister Eknath Shinde suggested giving pupils bus passes.
Since school and junior college students already received discounted prices, the fares for UG and PG students are now included in the student fare as of this announcement.

Headlines: Mumbai Traffic Police Receives “26/11” Like Terror Attack Threat

Arti Ghargi

“The Mumbai Police traffic control cell on Friday night received a message threatening of an attack akin to the ’26/11 terror blitz, Udaipur tailor’s killing or Sidhu Moosewala’s murder’, sources said. The threat, which was received on the WhatsApp number of the traffic control cell, was from a Pakistani number, highly placed sources told CNN-News18, adding that the messenger had said if his ‘location was traced’ it would be found to be outside India. The messenger threatened that the attack would take place in Mumbai. He also told the traffic control cell that ‘six people in India would carry out the attack’. Top police sources said security forces were probing the threat. “We are probing this. Work has been going on through the night. Other agencies have been informed too,”” said the sources. They added that police is also investigating the possibility of the call being a prank.
