The alleged murderer of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar was arrested in Hyderabad on Sunday night. The accused, Suresh Chandrakar, is believed to be the mastermind behind the murder.
He is a distant relative of Mukesh Chandrakar. Since the murder came to light, Suresh Chandrakar was on the run.
To track Suresh Chandrakar, the police reviewed footage from 200 CCTV cameras and traced nearly 300 mobile numbers.
According to the police, Suresh was hiding at his driverās home in Hyderabad. He is currently being questioned by the authorities.
Additionally, Mukesh’s cousin, Ritesh Chandrakar, was arrested at Raipur airport on Saturday. Mahendra Ramteke, a supervisor, and Dinesh Chandrakar, another relative of the victim, are also in custody.
An illegally constructed yard owned by Suresh Chandrakar was demolished, and four bank accounts linked to him have been frozen.
Authorities in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district have also taken Suresh Chandrakarās wife into custody for questioning.
The septic tank where Mukesh Chandrakarās body was found is owned by a contractor in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district.
According to the post-mortem report, Mukesh Chandrakar was attacked with a heavy object and sustained severe injuries to his head, chest, back, and stomach.
