Bridge Collapses In Vietnam, 8 Missing

A 30-year-old bridge collapsed over Vietnam’s Red River in Phu Tho province, leaving eight missing amid Typhoon Yagi’s devastation. Authorities have restricted traffic on other bridges in the region, including the Chuong Duong Bridge in Hanoi. The typhoon has claimed at least 58 lives, with another 40 reported missing as the northern province suffers extensive damage.

The Telangana government has launched the second phase of its crop loan waiver scheme, waiving loans up to ₹1.5 lakh. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced the release of ₹6,198 crore to benefit over 6.5 lakh farmers. “No State ever waived such a large amount of crop loans,” Reddy said. The initiative covers ₹12,289 crore for 16.29 lakh families in total.
