Imran Khanโ€™s Party Nominates Umar Ayub Khan For PM

On February 15, Imprisoned Former PM Imran Khanโ€™s party nominated Umar Ayub Khan, the partyโ€™s general secretary and the grandson of former military dictator Ayub Khan, as its candidate for Prime Minister. Umar Ayub Khan, 54, joined PTI before the 2018 general elections after an unsuccessful bid in 2013 with PML-N. Despite over 100 independents supported by PTI winning the February 8 polls, no clear majority has emerged, leading to allegations of electoral theft by PTI.
