28 Confirmed Cases Of Coronavirus In India, Government On Toes To Contain Infection

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan announced the figures of coronavirus infected individuals while stating that international passengers would be screened.

Delhi| The number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus has reached 28 in India. Six people from Agra, who were also relatives of the man from Delhi who had tested positive, were infected. Also, a group of 23 Italian tourists who came to India and visited Jaipur was also tested, out of which 15 were found to be infected with the disease. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan announced the figures. He also said that all the international passengers would be screened at the airports.

Meanwhile, 6 samples taken from Noida on the suspicion of coronavirus have tested negative, officials informed today. The six of them are quarantined in their houses for 14 days and will be retested if symptoms are noticed again, said officials.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has told citizens that there was no need to panic. Modi informed that he has cancelled his Holi celebrations in the wake of the call to avoid mass gatherings. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has also conducted meetings with his Health Minister Satyender Jain to take stock of the situation in Delhi, where 6 people are kept under observation.

Meanwhile, South Korea has confirmed 293 more cases on Tuesday leading the total number of infected people to 5612.
