With 9152 Cases and 308 Deaths India Records Spike In Coronavirus Infection

Across the globe, over 1.8 million people have been infected by coronavirus & at least 114,185 people have died, according to the latest data available.

New Delhi: At least 308 people have succumbed to the infection of novel coronavirus in India with 35 deaths in the last 24 hours. The deadly COVID-19 has infected 9,152 people in the nation, according to the Health Ministry.

At 8 AM, the website of health ministry showed that there were 7987 active cases, 857 people were cured, discharged or had migrated, a couple of days before the nationwide lockdown is about to end.

Maharashtra, worst-hit state by the virus in India, has 2351 coronavirus cases, including 217 people who have been cured and 149 fatalities as of Monday. The state had crossed 1000 cases just last Tuesday, but the past nine days reported more than 100 per day, including three days that saw more than 200 cases.

In Delhi, the national capital, there are 1205 COVID-19 cases and out of which 24 people have been killed and 27 have been cured.

With 1136 coronavirus cases, Tamil Nadu is in the third place. There have been 11 fatalities in the southern state and 50 people have been cured.

Headed by PM Modi and including Home Minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Nirmala Sitharaman, the Council of Ministers, will resume work at their ministries from today.

Meanwhile, govt is planning to colour-code all districts in the nation during the extended time of the shutdown to identify virus-free zones from the badly affected zones.
