On August 5, the Jammu and Kashmir administration snapped the Mobile and landline services ahead of Central government’s announcement to abrogate Article 370.
New Delhi| The communication services in five districts of Jammu have been restored on Thursday. Reportedly, mobile phone services in Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri and Ramban have been resumed. It was on the eve of govt’s announcement of abrogation of Article 370, that the communication lines in various areas of Jammu and Kashmir were snapped.

Abrogation of Article 370
On August 5, the Jammu and Kashmir administration snapped the Mobile and landline services. The action came ahead of Central government’s announcement to abrogate Article 370- a provision that gave Jammu and Kashmir a special status. Internet services were also snapped in various parts of the region.
The government’s move was criticised by various leaders saying the communication blackout has resulted in a major issue.
