Coronavirus Cases In India Spike To 13, Six Test Positive In Agra

Incidentally, no case of coronavirus was reported in the country for a month, however, 9 new patients appeared in 24 hours.

 

New Delhi| The Coronavirus scare has entered India. So far, 13 cases of coronavirus infections have been reported in the country. Six cases in Agra, 3 in Kerala, 2 in Jaipur, one each in Delhi and Telangana have been found. Two schools were closed in Noida. In one of these school, the children of a virus-infected person study. Exams have also been postponed. Meanwhile, Air India reported that on February 25 a person was also found infected on a flight from Vienna to Delhi. There were 200 passengers aboard this flight. India has cancelled visas and e-visas issued before March 3 to the citizens of Italy, Iran, South Korea and Japan after the sudden spike in infection cases.

Coronavirus infection was confirmed in 3 patients in Kerala on February 3 in India. Subsequently, coronavirus was confirmed in a single patient in Delhi and Telangana on March 2. On March 3, 1 patient was found positive in Jaipur and 6 in Agra. Incidentally, no case of coronavirus was reported in the country for a month, however, 9 new patients appeared in 24 hours.

What steps did the government take?

Ministry of External Affairs has issued an advisory on visas. Visas and e-visas issued to citizens of Italy, Iran, South Korea and Japan before March 3 have been cancelled. The rule will only apply to foreign nationals who have not yet arrived in India.

Kejriwal spoke to Modi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the coronavirus. He said that all effective steps would be taken to prevent it, as it is a very dangerous disease.

The Prime Minister has also expressed concern over the coronavirus. Modi tweeted – “I have reviewed the situation on COVID-19 in detail. The Union Minister and the State are working together for a screening and immediate treatment of people coming from outside India. No need to panic about it.”

Test of 21 Italian nationals in ITBP camps

3 Indians and 21 Italian nationals were tested in ITBP camps. Their report will come tomorrow. Earlier, the report of all 112 people kept in this centre has been found to be negative.
