New Delhi | Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday assured that the second phase of the Coastal Surveillance Network (CSN) would be completed on the mentioned time period.
The Coastal Surveillance Network (CSN) provides real-time surveillance of the high sensitivity areas along the coastline to avoid 26/11 like terrorist attacks on Mumbai. Sitharaman lauded the exemplary efficiency of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and foresightedness of its leadership for scientific and meticulously planned development of the organisation to meet the emergent challenges while inaugurating the 37th Coast Guard Commandersā Conference.
The Defence Minister also appreciated the coast guard for its work and saving people’s life post-cyclone Ockhi and during Kerala floods. Nirmala Sitharaman admired the surveillance efforts of ICG in the vast and expansive maritime zones of India in the Indo-Pacific region.
