Exit Polls: Grand Alliance Leads In Bihar, Close Contest Expected

The Mahagathbandhan led by Tejashwi Yadav is leading exit polls, in a contest that was initially considered a walkover for the NDA.

The third phase of voting in Bihar Assembly Election has ended. The fortune of 243 assembly seats of Bihar has been recorded in voting machines. Though the final outcomes of the elections will be announced on November 10, the exit polls predicting the outcome have started coming in.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), comprising of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Hindustani Awam Morcha and Vikasanshil Insan Party (VIP), fought the polls under the leadership of Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (U). On the other hand, the Mahagathbandhan, comprising of Congress and left parties, contested under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
