Mumbai| The fire broke out at the City Center Mall in Nagpada area late Thursday. At the time there were about 500 people in the mall that caught fire. However, all were evacuated on time and there have been no casualties. 50 vehicles of fire brigade are present on the spot. 2 firefighters sustained minor injuries during the rescue. An official of the fire brigade said that around 3500 people were evacuated from the surrounding buildings and shops after the fire.
The fire began first in the mobile phone shop
The fire started around 9 pm on Thursday night. Currently, the shops around the mall have been evacuated. According to fire brigade officials, a mobile shop located on the second floor of the mall caught fire due to a short circuit and then the fire spread to the entire floor. Initially, the fire was Level 1 (Minor), but the flames started reaching the surrounding buildings at 2.30 pm.

Firemen arrived inside by breaking the glass of the mall
There was a lot of smoke in the mall due to the lack of ventilation in the mall. Because of this, the team of fire brigade broke the glass of the mall so that the smoke could come out. After the incident, local Congress MLA Amin Patel and Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar also reached the spot.
