Gas Leak In Chhattisgarh Now; 7 Workers Hospitalized, 3 Critical After Leakage In Raigarh Paper Mill

The superintendent of police Santosh Singh informed that the owner of the mill tried to hide the incident and did not inform the police of the same.

Raigarh| On Thursday, at least 7 workers were hospitalized after a gas leak at a paper mill in Raigarh of Chhattisgarh. Three workers are said to be critical, news agency ANI reported.

Santosh Singh and Yashwant Kumar, the Raigarh Superintendent of Police and Collector met the victims affected by the gas leak. The superintendent of police Santosh Singh informed that the owner of the mill tried to hide the incident and did not inform the police of the same. A case will be registered against him, the police said.

Earlier in a day, a similar incident took place in Vishakhapattanam of Andhra Pradesh where 10 people passed away while over 1000 people were hospitalized after a gas leakage at LG Polymers industry in RR Venkatapuram village.

Many heartbreaking images of people and animals lying on the ground unconscious due to the gas leakage surfaced on the internet in the morning. Though authorities were successful in evacuating people from the affected site and hospitalized those who were facing a health problem.
