Heavy Rains Lash Several Areas Across India, IMD Predicts Moderate To Heavy Rain For Mumbai and Thane

Across the country, the heavy rains for the last week have caused major flooding. An alert has been issued by the department for several other areas of the country.

 

New Delhi| For the last two days, continuous spells of rain have lashed the national capital Delhi and its satellite cities. This led to heavy traffic jams, waterlogging and in some parts trees collapsed too. While, Delhiites woke up to a slightly sunny morning, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain in many areas even today.

Across the country, the heavy rains for the last week have caused major flooding. An alert has been issued by the department for several other areas of the country. IMD has predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places in Palghar (August 20, August 22, August 23, August 24), Thane (August 20 to August 24) and Mumbai district (August 20, August 22 and August 23.

The Meteorological Department of India (IMD) predicted on Friday morning that light to moderate intensity thunderstorms may occur in parts of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. IMD forecast also said that light to moderate intensity rainfall will occur in and around Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Karnal, Kaithal, Jind, Kurukshetra, Deoband, Yamunanagar during the next few hours. On Friday, rains are predicted in Moradabad, Amroha, Chandpur, Hastinapur, Khatoli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Garhmukteshwar and some other cities in Bijnor.
