India-Pakistan Mutually Agree On Ceasefire Along LoC, US Welcomes Decision

New Delhi| The two countries will withdraw their special military squads from the LoC following the agreement between India and Pakistan to strictly implement a ceasefire and other agreements along the Line of Control. Special military squads have been deployed close to the LoC on behalf of both countries. These squads are deployed for immediate aggressive retaliation. There is no exact information is available about their numbers but a large number of such squads are deployed.

Sources said that at present, these types of squads will be withdrawn from the LoC. If the ceasefire is followed from both sides, then these squads will remain withdrawn. But the squads deployed in the prevention of infiltration and counter-terrorism operations will continue to function as before.
