India’s Coronavirus Cases Growing Three Times The Speed, Leaves Behind US and Brazil

The new wave of Coronavirus in India is growing at three times the speed. In the second wave, it took just 20 days to reach from 20000 cases to 80000 cases in one day.

 

New Delhi| In the midst of ever increasing coronavirus cases, on Saturday, 93,000 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in India, which is the highest number of cases in a day in the last 5 months. During this period 514 people have also lost their lives, which is the highest since 4 December. With this, India has become the country registering maximum . On Friday, around 89,000 new cases were reported, the highest in the world. It was followed by the US (70,024) and Brazil (69,662).

New wave of Coronavirus growing at three times the speed

The new wave of Coronavirus in India is growing at three times the speed. In the second wave, it took just 20 days to reach from 20000 cases to 80000 cases in one day. It took 64 days during the first wave last year. The Union Health Ministry said that 81.42% of these cases are from 8 states whereas 86% of deaths are from 5 states including Maharashtra.

On September 16 last year, the country had the highest number of 97,860 patients. After this, the figure started to decrease and on February 11 this year, it dropped to 10,988 cases. The second wave of corona is believed to have started in the country after this. While the infection rate was also 5.50% in June last year, it is now growing at a rapid pace of 6.80%. The worst condition is from Maharashtra, where around 48000 cases have been reported in 24 hours. More cases are being found in Brazil and the US only.

In view of this, all students up to class 8th in Maharashtra will be promoted without exam. A 12-hour curfew has started in Pune from Saturday. Night curfew has been imposed in 10 cities of Odisha since Monday. All educational institutions in Himachal will remain closed till 15 April. The cremation ground in the Durg district of Chhattisgarh is falling short. The city has a complete lockdown from Tuesday to April 14.
