Infosys Employee Loses Job, Gets Arrested After “Spread The Virus” Post

 

An Infosys employee in Bengaluru did the same. Reportedly, he made an appeal on his social media post for people to come out and “Sneeze in public”.

Bengaluru|The Coronavirus Pandemic has created havoc across the globe. The global count has crossed 4,00,000 mark. Experts say that maintaining personal hygiene and washing hands frequently is the only way we can prevent catching infection.

India too, is battling with Coronavirus outbreak. So far the country has recorded more than 800 cases and 19 deaths. A Lockdown has been imposed in the entire country for a period of 21 days to contain the spread of Coronavirus. However, even in challenging times like these, some people do not resist from making a mockery.

An Infosys employee in Bengaluru did the same. Reportedly, he made an appeal on his social media post for people to come out and “Sneeze in public”. Not only that he also called for “Spreading The Virus”. In his Facebook post, he wrote, “Let’s join hands, go out and sneeze with open mouth in public. Spread the virus.”Taking note of the irresponsible post, Bengaluru Police arrested him on Friday.

The person who has been identified as Mujeeb Mohammed works as a senior technology architect at the tech giant. Mujeeb has been booked under Section 505 of the Indian Penal Code which deals with making statement which causes alarm or fear in public, and also inciting & provokes others.

After the incident came to light, Infosys claimed that the statements were wrongly attributed to their employee. However, after launching an investigation the company found him guilty and terminated his service.
