Maharashtra Government curbs Mumbai police commissioner Parambir Singh’s salary

Mumbai: Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, surrounded by Antilia scandal and allegations of recovery, has suffered another major setback. Considering him as a fugitive, the Maharashtra government has banned his salary.

Parambir Singh had gone out of Mumbai in the name of leave after being accused in the Antilia scandal, but is now missing. Several FIRs have been registered against Parambir Singh in Mumbai and Thane. Police summoned Parambir Singh but did not get any reply. In such a situation, now the state government is considering Parambir as a fugitive. The state government is also making up its mind to take action regarding his suspension.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing the Antilia and Mansukh Hiren murder case, has summoned former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh several times for questioning, but the summons has not been delivered to him yet. The NIA and the investigating agencies of the state of Maharashtra suspect that Parambir Singh has left the country for fear of arrest.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray targeted former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh. He had said on Saturday that there is a case in the state where the complainant has gone missing.

He made this statement on the sidelines of the inauguration of two wings of the Annexe building in the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court. Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, Supreme Court Justice DY Chandrachud and others were present on the occasion.

“Justice DY Chandrachud told (during his address at the event) that a case is pending in Maharashtra since 1958 as the accused is absconding. But today we have a case where the complainant is missing.”

“He complained making serious allegations, but is missing now. We don’t know where he is. This also needs to be looked into.” Though the chief minister did not name anyone, his remarks were clearly aimed at the senior IPS officer, who had leveled corruption allegations against former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh.
