Mumbai : Shekhar Kamble, a witness in another case pertaining to a Nigerian’s arrest in Kharghar, alleged that he was made to sign 10-12 blank papers that were later used as Panchnamas.
Shekhar said that he saw a news yesterday on TV about his case and later got a call from NCB official Anil Mane asking him not to speak with anyone about the case. He said, “I saw a news on TV yesterday that mentioned Kharghar Nigerian case. I was scared. I got a call from some NCB official named Anil Mane. Ashish Ranjan, an NCB official, was handling the case.”
Kamble claimed that he was contacted by an NCB officer named Anil Mane late last night and asked not to speak to anyone. He also said Sameer Wankhede had asked him to sign on blank papers and assured him nothing would happen. He also showed WhatsApp call records.
Witness in the controversial Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) investigation into an alleged drug bust involving actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has claimed that he was made to sign a blank paper, and that there were talks of a payoff worth crores.
The witness, Prabhakar Sail, is an aide of another witness, K.P. Gosavi, a man who is not associated with the NCB officially but was purportedly seen escorting Aryan at its Mumbai headquarters in a video released by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
Sail is believed to have made the allegations in an affidavit notarised Saturday. He reiterated the claims in a video released to journalists, and cited a threat to his life, crying foul over Gosavi’s alleged absence from the scene. Gosavi has allegedly absconded since a row erupted over his role in the Aryan Khan case.
Sail alleged that he heard Gosavi talk about demanding Rs 25 crore and settle at Rs 18 crore because “Rs 8 crore needs to be given to Sameer Wankhede, NCB’s zonal director”. Wankhede led the team behind the alleged 2 October bust that led to Aryan’s arrest.
The Mumbai Police will go through CCTV footage to ascertain witnesses’ claims and allegations against NCB officer Sameer Wankhede, sources said.
KP Gosavi, Prabhakar Sail, Sam D’Souza under NCB lens
Prabhakar Sail, an aide of another witness in the case KP Gosavi, has claimed in an affidavit that he overheard one Sam D’Souza and Gosavi discussing a pay-off of Rs 25 crore to let go Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was arrested in the case. KP Gosavi, who is currently absconding, was one of the NCB’s nine independent witnesses during the raid in which Aryan Khan was arrested. A selfie of Gosavi with Aryan Khan also went viral on social media. All the three — KP Gosavi, Prabhakar Sail, Sam D’Souza — are under the NC lens.
