Mumbai| As the mysterious Antilia bomb scare case is being investigated, new revelations are coming out about Assistant Police Inspector (API) Sachin Vaze. He was arrested by NIA in connection with a gelatin-laden Scorpio case recovered from outside Antilia. According to sources, an investigation by the NIA has revealed that Vaze had several luxury cars. Three of these have been seized by the Central Investigation Agency. On Thursday evening, the NIA recovered Mercedes and Prado were hidden in a parking lot. Prado is registered in the name of a ShivSena leader from Ratnagiri.
A team of forensic experts from Delhi reached the NIA office on Thursday. Today this team will examine the Mercedes car. On March 16, it was found parked in the BMC parking lot near the JJ School of Art. It turned out that Vaze had parked the car here from 13 to 14 March. The guard there has told the NIA that this car was parked in the premises often.
Vaze Met Mansukh On The Day Scorpio Was Found Outside Antilia
The NIA has got new CCTV footage in this matter. According to sources, an investigation into the footage has revealed that both Mansukh Hiren and Sachin Vaze met for 10 minutes near CSMT on February 17. Mansukh had lodged an FIR for Scorpio theft. Mansukh had come to meet Vaze in Ola cab. It is believed that this footage is when Mansukh got information about his car being stolen.
According to NIA sources, CCTV footage shows Vaze also met Mansukh in the same Mercedes that he is seen driving while coming out of the police headquarters. Later, his car is also seen at the main intersection of CSMT. Despite the green signal, the car stops there. After some time Mansukh comes there and sits inside the car. After this, the car is seen near the General Post Office. After staying there for about 10 minutes, Mansukh leaves from there. After this, the Mercedes is seen entering the Police headquarters.
NIA Probes Ola Cab Driver
The driver of the Ola car, who brought Mansukh to CSMT, has said in interrogation that Mansukh received five phone calls during the ride to CSMT. The caller first asked Mansukh to meet outside the Roopam showroom in front of the police headquarters and in the last phone call, he was asked to come on the CSMT signal. Investigation agencies have contacted L&T to generate this CCTV footage. L&T operates the CCTV cameras installed at traffic intersections in Mumbai.
Sachin Vaze’s Bail Plea Hearing Today
Meanwhile, Thane Sessions Court today will hear the bail application of Sachin Vaze. NIA has recorded statements of 3 CIU officials who have worked with Vaze. These three are said to be very close to him. Earlier, the NIA team has recorded statements of 9 staffers associated with the crime branch.
