PM Modi Chairs A Meeting With CMs, To Talk To Oxygen Manufacturers Shortly

PM Modi’s marathon meeting comes a day after the Supreme Court asked the Central govt to inform it about its plan to tackle what it called a “National Emergency”.

 

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold three high-level meetings today amid the growing cases of Coronavirus. PM Modi will first hold an internal meeting. After this, he will talk to the Chief Ministers of the states where Coronavirus cases are rising rapidly. The third meeting of the Prime Minister will be held with oxygen manufacturers.

PM Modi announced the cancellation of rallies on Thursday. He has also cancelled his West Bengal tour. He was earlier scheduled to address rallies in Malda, Murshidabad, Birbhum and South Kolkata, but now he will conduct all four rallies virtually.

The internal meeting of the Prime Minister was held at 9 am. The second meeting was held at 10 am with the Chief Ministers of the states. This may include the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Bihar and Kerala. After this, at 12.30 pm, Modi will talk to the owner of the oxygen production companies.

The issue of oxygen shortage is also being heard in 6 High Courts. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the states not to stop the oxygen supply vehicles. Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level review meeting regarding the supply of oxygen in the country. In this, he instructed the officers that there should not be any hindrance in the supply of oxygen to the states.
