Rhea Chakraborty’s Bail Application Rejected By Mumbai Court, To Stay In Custody Till September 22

On September 8, Rhea Chakraborty filed a bail application in the Metropolitan Magistrate Court after the bail application was rejected in the Magistrate Court.

 

Mumbai| The bail plea of Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested after the drugs angle surfaced in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput was dismissed. She will now remain in jail till 22 September. Apart from Rhea, the bail application of Showik Chakraborty, Abdul Basit, Zaid Vilatra, Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda was also dismissed. While delivering the judgment, Judge JB Gurav said that it is a serious crime and it needs to be investigated.

On the court’s decision, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Manashinde said, “We will take further steps after getting the copy of the order. We can appeal in the High Court next week.”

Earlier, the Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Mumbai had reserved the judgment on Thursday. On September 8, Rhea appealed to the Metropolitan Magistrate Court after the bail application was rejected in the Magistrate Court.
