Sushant Singh Rajput Case: BMC Explains Why It Quarantined Bihar IPS Officer Vinay Tiwari

On Sunday, Patna’s SP Vinay Tiwari, who arrived in Mumbai on Sunday for investigation, was quarantined by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

 

Mumbai| The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has come out with an explanation over why it has quarantined Bihar Police officer Vinay Tiwari who arrived in the city to investigate the Sushant Singh Rajput Suicide case. The explanation comes a day hours after Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey alleged that the Bihar Police officer Vinay Tiwari is being “Forcibly Quarantined”.

The BMC issued a statement on Twitter clarifying the reason behind the action. It said that Tiwari was put under Home Quarantine as per the rules. “The P/South administration received information stating that the said officer arrived in SRPF Group 8 Guesthouse, Goregaon(East). Being a domestic air traveller, he needs to be guided for home quarantine as per the state government guidelines. Accordingly, P/South ward team approached him at the said guesthouse yesterday evening,” BMC said in the statement.

“The team explained him the whole procedure for domestic air traveller, including home quarantine, which is fixed by the state government notification. He has also been guided to apply to the competent authority of MCGM for exemption in the home quarantine period as per the state government notification,” the BMC further added.

On Sunday, Patna’s SP Vinay Tiwari, who arrived in Mumbai on Sunday for investigation, was quarantined by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). A Home quarantine stamp has been put on his hand, he has been asked to stay in a house until further orders. This means he will no longer be able to meet anyone for investigation.

Bihar Police Alleges – quarantined forcibly

Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey tweeted, “IPS officer Vinay Tiwari arrived in Mumbai from Patna on official duty to lead the police team, but he was forcibly quarantined by BMC officials at 11 pm. Despite the request, arrangements were not made to stay in his IPS mess. They are now housed in a guest house in Goregaon. I will talk to the DGP of Maharashtra on this.”

Bihar Police is searching for Rhea Chakraborty

Even 50 days after the death of Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Mumbai Police had got no lead. Thus, there has been an increasing demand for handing over the case to CBI. A petition was filed in this regard in the Supreme Court which refused to do so. On the other hand, Sushant’s father filed an FIR in Patna police station accusing Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty of withdrawing huge sum of money from his account days before his suicide. The Bihar police team which is in Mumbai has appealed Rhea Chakraborty to cooperate.
