BJP MLA Biswajit Das today switched to the ruling Trinamool Congress in Bengal.
In a third defection of lawmaker since Mamata Banerjee’s big victory in the April-May state polls, BJP MLA Biswajit Das today switched to the ruling Trinamool Congress in Bengal.
Just before the assembly election, in an exodus of Trinamool Congress leaders, Biswajit Das had moved to the BJP.
While joining the reverse tide from the BJP to the TMC like many others, Das claimed to have “realised his mistake”.
“I never felt very comfortable in the BJP. I wanted to return to the TMC long ago. The BJP has done nothing for Bengal,” he said after joining the party in presence of TMC secretary general Partha Chatterjee.
Tanmay Ghosh, another MLA who had moved to the BJP and won, returned to the Trinamool on Monday.
Mukul Roy, the BJP’s first import in Bengal, was the biggest homecoming post election. Mukul Roy returned to Trinamool in June after four years.
