NEW DELHI| On Monday, Yogi Adityanath was seen too angry while talking to the officer at a meeting in a district near Delhi where Uttar Pradesh has reported that the most number of coronavirus cases in the state. Reason being one of the officials at the meeting has reportedly asked for leave after the public dressing down, while having a video conference with the official UP CM Yogi Adityanath got annoyed and shouted at him.
Examining the situation near, Gautam Buddha Nagar, of which Noida is a part, has reported 38 of the 96 COVID-19 cases in UP. The officer was instantly replaced and a new officer was soon appointed. Noida District Magistrate BN Singh was removed and 2007 batch IAS officer Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj was appointed.
CM Yogi has seen shouting at the officials while he sits stunned into silence, “Bakwaas bandh karo apna (stop this nonsense),” the Chief Minister said.
UP CM Yogi Aditynath continues saying, “It is because of this nonsense that this is the situation today. Instead of fulfilling your responsibilities, passing the buck”.
CM Yogi Adityanath was angry when he ordered “two weeks back” to make proper arrangements for social distancing and quarantine but the officials failed to do so. He believed that this was a weak response to the coronavirus threat and the lockdown despite his orders.
Sources claimed soon the meeting ended, the Noida District Magistrate was noticed with replacement.
Paramilitary troops and policemen were seen on the roads of Noida, making announcements and creating awareness amongst the people. On Monday troops were seen asking people to stay indoors. Cops were saying, “Nobody should be seen on the roads. If anyone is found on roads for unnecessary reasons, strict action will be taken (against him or her) under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code. Please follow orders, in the interest of the country and your families”.
Amid a rising number of COVID-19 cases, the Gautam Buddha Nagar administration has made arrangements to quarantine the suspected cases in a sports complex.
Greater Noida’s Jaypee Sports City complex has been turned into a quarantine facility, said District Magistrate BN Singh.
Across India, the COVID-19 count is close to 1,100-mark; 29 deaths have been reported. To fight the rapid spread of the disease, the country is on a three-week lockdown that will end on April 14.
