Adding to the list of states who are opting for selective lockdown, Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar on Friday ordered that Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad will remain in lockdown from July 13 for the next 10 days. The containment zones will also be increased.

On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh has gone into a blanket lockdown imposed throughout the state. For the next three days till Monday, only essential services will be allowed in the state. The lockdown will be lifted at 5 am on Monday. However, factories in rural areas will be exception.

Meanwhile, Mumbai which is one of the most affected cities in the state has been praised by the WHO for its Dharavi model. Dharavi a few days ago recorded just one new case of Coronavirus, indicating that it is inching closer to flattening the curve completely.
