Advocate Who Challenged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s Restoration As MP Fined ₹ 1 Lakh

The Supreme Court imposed a fine of ₹ 1 Lakh on a Lucknow-based advocate who challenged the restoration of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s Lok Sabha membership,  who was disqualified after a court sentenced him to 2 years imprisonment in a criminal defamation case over ‘Modi surname’ remark. A bench consisting of Justices BR Gavai and Sandeep Mehta found the petition frivolous and a waste of judicial time.
