Arvind Kejriwal Takes A Dig At BJP Says, โ€œTrying To Make Sonia Gandhi PM Through Backdoorโ€

Arvind Kejriwal was responding to a question about BJP leaders stating that social activist Medha Patkar would be AAPโ€™s chief ministerial candidate in the Gujarat assembly polls

Ahmedabad: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday attacked BJP in poll-bound Gujarat and alleged that the party is trying to make Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi as the โ€œPrime Minister through the backdoorโ€ and โ€œsuccessorโ€ to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kejriwal was responding to a question about BJP leaders stating that social activist Medha Patkar would be AAPโ€™s chief ministerial candidate in the Gujarat assembly polls. โ€œI have heard that BJP will make Sonia Gandhi as the PM candidate after PM Modi. Ask them what they have to say on this. Ask them that Kejriwal has alleged that you are going to make Sonia Gandhi PM candidate and the successor to PM Modi at the national level. What do they have to say on this? The BJP is trying to make Sonia Gandhi the PM of the country through the backdoor. Ask them this question,โ€ Kejriwal said.

The BJP has sought to make Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) founder Medha Patkarโ€™s past ties with AAP a poll issue in Gujarat. Party leaders have said that Patkar opposed Narmada project and have talked of โ€œrenewed tiesโ€ between her and AAP.

Kejriwal alleged that the BJP โ€œhas not done anythingโ€ for the development of Gujarat and claimed it has โ€œno programme for the next five yearsโ€.

Kejriwal also claimed that the Congress party is โ€œfinishedโ€ as a party. โ€œCongress is finished. You should stop taking their questions. People no more care about their questions,โ€ Kejriwal said in response to a query.
The AAP leader has earlier urged the people not to โ€œwaste their votesโ€ on Congress. After its victory in the held Punjab Assembly elections earlier this year, AAP is seeking to expand its footprint in other states.
Gujarat will face assembly polls later this year.

โ€œReligious Conversions Would Break Indiaโ€: BJPโ€™s Prabal Pratap Singh

ANI
Singh

Singh said, โ€œThe people of the city are thinking about the arrival of the RSS chief in various waysโ€

Jashpur: Religious conversion and separation of tribals from their forefathers would break India, said BJP Yuva Morcha vice president Prabal Pratap Singh on Tuesday.

He made the remark while speaking to ANI on Tuesday. Prabal Pratap Singh is the son of late Dilip Singh Judev. Notably, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat unveiled the statue of late Dilip Singh Judev in Jashpur on Monday. Singh said, โ€œThe people of the city are thinking about the arrival of the RSS chief in various ways. But I would like to say that the RSS chiefโ€™s message was that tribal pride is needed not only in India but in the whole world. The pride of tribes is the pride of India.โ€

โ€œThe arrival of the RSS chief gives the message that the entire area in the time of cultural revival, especially Vananchal, which has our roots, has to work together strongly. Because conversion efforts are going on to weaken these roots. By respecting our forefathers, we should not fall into the temptation of other religions, imposed cultures and imposed thoughts,โ€ Singh added.

On the other hand, Kunkuri MLA U D Minj said, โ€œLate Kumar Dilip Singh Judev has been a brave man of the region. Judev had put his honour at stake to bring BJP to power. After that he was ignored. After his death in 2013, the then Chief Minister announced to install his statue even after that it was not installed till 2018. This is painful for the people of this place. Lakhs of rupees were spent on the garden but torn polythene was put on his statue. It used to be a painful thing.โ€

Notably, the RSS chief said, โ€œAll the religions of India have been given to India by the farmers and forest dwellers. The pride of that religion is the pride of the tribal people, therefore it is the pride of India.โ€
