To take stock of the law and order situation, SP Charu Nigam of Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya went out on the streets disguised as ‘Sarita Chauhan’. The official then informed police of robbery taking place with her. The video of the incident has now gone on social media. The video was used to show that the police system in her area is fine. After the video went viral on social media, mixed reactions have come from people.
Auraiya’s SP Charu Nigam called the police and told her name as Sarita Chauhan. She told the police that she’s been robbed near Plastic City on Dibiyapur Road. Bike riders armed with guns have looted and fled towards Auraiya, she told the police after which the police reach the spot immediately.
In the video shared by the Auraiya police, it is seen that the policemen after reaching the location check the vehicles moving there but they do not find anything. About an hour after this incident, it comes to know that the complainant is not a common citizen but Auraiya’s SP Charu Nigam, who was checking the response time of the police department. At the same time, another video has also surfaced on social media, in which SP Charu Nigam is sitting on a bike. In such a situation, a boy recording the video is saying, ‘Come on – come on, let’s see which place will be right.’
This video was shared by the Auraiya police on Twitter. They wrote: “In order to check the response time and vigilance of the district police, Superintendent of Police Auraiya @ipsCharuNigam while hiding her identity, traveled on the deserted road and reported incident of robbery on gunpoint unknown persons riding a bike. The information was given to the control room and dial112, after which the district police response was found satisfactory.

At the same time, many users on social media called the entire test as ‘drama’ suggesting that it was all pre-planned.
A user named Shivam Bhatt shared the second video and wrote, “The script was well prepared by Auraiya Police and SP Sahiba. Tried to show that how in Auraiya everything is fine and how the entire police station reaches on a small complaint. But a mistake was made, instead of the entire film, BTS video was also released and is going viral.”

Journalist Asif Azmi wrote that the functioning of the UP Police is not so bad that third-rate scripts and even worse shoots and edits should try to convince people. Today, there is a need for police reform and professional training of the highest order, not acting.
Some social media users took a jibe at this video and wrote that the script turned out to be very weak and while some people wrote that madam had desire to step into the acting world, and not in police.
