On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to BJP’s Krishnanagar Lok Sabha candidate, Rajmata Amrita Roy, reaffirming the party’s commitment to eradicate corruption. He pledged to retrieve money embezzled from West Bengal’s poor, seized by the Enforcement Directorate, back to the rightful owners.
Modi emphasized the BJP’s stance against corruption and expressed optimism for electoral change in West Bengal. The BJP has positioned corruption as a critical issue against the ruling Trinamool Congress. Notably, the BJP won 18 out of 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal in the 2019 elections, emerging as the principal opposition to Mamata Banerjee’s party.
