The BMC- Mumbai’s civic body has ordered a high-level probe into the death of a 45-year-old woman after falling into a drain during heavy rain on Wednesday . A thee-member panel led by Deputy Commissioner has been formed. The incident occurred late night in the Andheri area and the victim has been identified as Vimal Anil Gaikwad.
The BMC, which is India’s richest civic body in a press statement said: “A high-level inquiry committee consisting of three members has been formed. Deputy Commissioner of Zone 3, Devidas Kshirsagar, will chair the committee, while Chief Fire Officer Ravindra Ambulgekar and Chief Engineer (Quality) Avinash Tambe will be the other two members,” the statement read.

The victim’s husband has also filed a complaint against the civic body and the process to register an FIR is underway.
