New Delhi:  The Centre has upgraded the security of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma from the ‘Z’ category cover in the North-Eastern region to the ‘Z+’ category on an India basis, sources said.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), which is currently providing Sarma ‘Z’ category security, will now facilitate him with ‘Z+’ category security.

Sources said that the move comes after the security arrangement for Sarma was reviewed in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in consultation with the Central Security Agency and it has been decided to upgrade his present ‘Z’ category CRPF security cover in North-Eastern region to ‘Z+’ category CRPF security cover on all India basis.

The MHA has requested the CRPF to provide ‘Z+’ category security cover to Sarma on all India basis, said the sources.

As per the ‘Z+’ category security protocol, over 50 commandos would accompany the Assam CM whenever he travels anywhere within the country.

Sarma was accorded a ‘Z’ category security cover of CRPF in 2017. Under earlier security arrangements, the ‘Z’ category security was being provided to Sarma within the state.

Milind Narvekar knows every Shiv Sainik, Their strengths and weaknesses. Narvekar initially used to petty duties at Matoshree later he was appointed Uddhav Thackeray’s PA. Narvekar was responsible for setting up the schedule for Thackeray’s meetings and political tours.

After Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s revolt, the Thackeray camp often criticized Eknath Shinde and his MLAs with abuses.

However, keeping political differences aside, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Uddhav Thackeray’s P. A Milind Narvekar,  during Ganeshotsav.Although the reason for the visit was said to seek the darshan of lord Ganesha, many people were surprised by this move.

For the past few days, talks were going on that Milind Narvekar, the secretary of Shiv Sena’s Thackeray group and close associate of Uddhav Thackeray, would leave the Shiv Sena (UBT) and join the (B) Shiv Sena.

Both Uddhav Thackeray and Narvekar had rubbished those discussions. However, now recently on Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s birthday, Narvekar extended wishes to Mr. Shah on the eve of Diwali.

Coincidentally, It so happened that the wishes came days after  Narvekar had won the MCA i.e. Mumbai Cricket Association membership election with a record number of votes. After which the debate was reignited whether Milind Narvekar is indeed joining hands with his former colleagues.

Milind Narvekar knows Shiv Sainiks, Their strengths, and their weaknesses. Narvekar, initially used to petty duties at Matoshree later he was appointed Uddhav Thackeray’s PA.

Narvekar was responsible for setting up the schedule for Thackeray’s meetings and political tours.

Many leaders, who switched sides from ShivSena had alleged that Narvekar used to act as a gatekeeper and did not allow senior leaders to meet Uddhav Thackeray.

Earlier last month, Champa Singh Thapa who resided in Matoshree for the last three decades with Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray joined Balasaebanchi Shiv Sena.
